Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, on Wednesday inspected the ongoing City Center constructions at Old MLA Hostel site & Khouchiezhie which is being remodelled under Kohima Smart City in the Capital.
Taking to X, Twitter, Rio posted that the new facilities will have modern amenities, multilevel parking, driveways etc. & provide the much needed urban facilities in the capital city.
Rio also informed that he has instructed the officials to ensure that all Smart City projects are completed within the Ministry’s given timeline. “Also, I congratulate @smartcitykohima on winning the Zonal Smart City Award for Northeast Zone under India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) for the year 2022,” tweeted Rio.
The Khuochiezie Kohima local ground measures 18,493 sq km which will comprise of a multi purpose sports ground, gallery and commercial space.

Equipped with modern facilities like hotel building, multi level car parking, mini sports complex and a commercial centre, the City Centre project in Kohima, covers an area of 21, 408. 69 sq.m. (5.29 acres approx).
Earlier in August this year, Er K Theünuo, Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KKSCDL informed that the project which has been taken up under the re-development of Old Assembly Secretariat site under Smart City Mission, will be completed by December 2023 or January 2024.
