Nagaland Chief Secretary, Dr J Alam, IAS today inaugurated the Vision Nagaland Hall at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, which saw the unveiling of the plaque and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
In his addres, Dr Alam congratulated the engineering team and the officials of ATI involved in this project for their commendable job despite budget constraints. Since the ATI conducts high level government training programs involving faculties and guests from national and international institutions, the Chief Secretary felt that it was important to provide a Hall with adequate facilities.
He also stated that human resource is the most precious resource of the state and reiterated the need for continuous investment in training and human resources and attributed the project’s success to a common vision and collaboration among various departments, serving as a model for future endeavours.
He also thanked the Finance and Planning Department for their prompt action and timely release of funds for the project and assured that all necessary help and facilities will be provided to ATI for undertaking similar renovations in the future.

Director of ATI and Secretary for Economics & Statistics, Akunu S Meyase, IAS, in her introductory speech extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and highlighted that the Hall which was first constructed in 2008-2009 underwent much needed renovations, in 2025 under the patronage of the Chief Secretary.
She emphasized ATI’s commitment of being a centre of excellence through upgraded infrastructure, teaching faculty and capacity building training programs and also stated that ATI conducts training for Head of Offices of various government departments, training of Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) and Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) probationers and officers.
A brief technical report was presented by the Executive Engineer of PWD (Housing), Er. Akule Pusa, who provided details into the planning, design, and materials used for construction and renovation of the hall. She informed that the project started on April 3, 2025 was completed within 3 months with a cost of 40 lakhs. The hall has a capacity of 80 to 100 seats.
Earlier, a dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev Fr CM Joseph, Parish Priest and Rector of Christ the King Church, Kohima Village. Officers of Finance, Planning, P&AR Departments, representatives from NCSA, NPSA, NSSA, CANSSEA, NIDA, FONSESA, NF&ASA and resource persons attended the programme.
