Choklangan Village Council commends dedication, effort of team led by Noklak DC to held mudslide victims

Noklak: CVC says team provide much needed lifeline to cope with trauma, rebuild their lives

The Choklangan Village Council (CVC) has expressed its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Arikumba, Noklak Deputy Comissioner and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and his proficient team for the exceptionally swift response and assistance provided to the families affected by the landslide that occurred on 9 July 2023 at 1:00 am at Choklangan village under Noklak District.

In a press release, CVC stated, “Words cannot adequately express the immense relief and comfort given by the team on the same day of the disaster to the affected villagers with immediate response and comprehensive assistance reaching the spot despite facing numerous problems on their way.”

The council also said that it was heartening to say that the team had to walk around 5-6 km on foot to reach the village as the road connecting the village was blocked by massive landslide in many locations.

CVC commended the dedication and determination of the team, taking the trouble to personally assess the situation and assist the affected villagers in Choklangan with cash and kind that has provided a much needed lifeline to cope with the trauma and rebuild their lives.

The DC was accompanied by Menlom Phom, EAC Nokhu, DOA DDMA, DB, bodyguards and two drivers.
