Chokri Area Public Organisation 28th general session held

The 28th General Session of Chokri Area Public Organisation (CAPO) was held at Multi Purpose Hall, Kikruma under Phek district on May 4.

Kudecho Khamo, Advisor CAWD and Taxes graced the occasion as the guest speaker. In his speech, Khamo implored the need to uphold the unity of Chokri area people through truth and honesty and uphold the legacy.

Asserting that peace is required for a society to progress, he underscored that unity is requisite while the people need to get rid of selfishness and forgive one another.

Highlighting the need to revive the good traditions and culture of the ancestors, maintain identity and unity, the advisor told the gathering to uphold the legacy of their forefathers.

Khamo also urged the people to uphold the resolutions of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) – ban import of pigs, preservation of flora and fauna and restrict burning of jungle adding that if these are followed it would enable the people to adapt and be self-reliant.

He asked the youth not to depend on government jobs alone but explore business stating that it is the way forward while he also asked the village councils to be honest and do justice and give cooperation for the development in the area.

Former NLA Speaker  and Home Minister, Thenucho Tunyi also delivered a speech. The presidential address was delivered by Vezohu Tunyi, President CAPO.

The programme was led by Vedunyi Khesoh, Vice-president, CAPO, welcome address was delivered by Thipuzhoyo Thira, VCC Kikruma and vote of thanks was delivered by Vesüli Theluo, General Secretary of CAPO.

The new team of CAPO for the tenure 2024-27 was also declared on the occasion and it would be led by Vepozoyi Theyo.
