Christian Residential Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung celebrated Children’s Day cum Annual Day Program today at Discovery Hall, Artang Ward, Mokokchung.
Nagamese musical maestro Sunep Lemtur graced the occasion as the Special Guest.
The event was celebrated to commemorate the birthday of the nation’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was a great advocate for children’s rights.
“The Children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country,” Nehru had once said.
Dr Sentila, Principal of Nagaland Bible College, in her brief welcome note emphasised the importance of Children’s Day and stated the positive influences that children have on society. She also expressed hope that the Almighty God would bless the children present with a future that is filled with peace and joy.
During the program, Ellen and Mark, two American citizens who now serve as missionaries in Spain, interacted momentarily with the students present.
The air at Christian Residential Higher Secondary School was filled with the enchanting voice of the multitalented singer, song writer, producer, director and entrepreneur, Sunep Lemtur as he sang his hit singles ‘GF’, ‘Kaun Ke Lobo’, ‘Loretta’, ‘Aseno’ and people’s favourite ‘Mintu Loves Pinky’.
His performance was followed by a brief teaser of his new single ‘Tipsy’ which is scheduled to be released officially in January 2023.
The programme was chaired by Jongponglemla and the invocation pronounced by Renbemo, Warden NBC.
A brief exhortation was delivered by Nisha, teacher, while special numbers were presented by students. The vote of thanks at the end was delivered by Imsupokla, the principal of CRHSS.
