Chuchuyimlang Moatsü marks cultural unity and economic progress with laying foundation stone Yaküki HiEERA Development Projects Pvt Ltd

The Chuchuyimpang Moatsü, cum laying of the foundation stone for Yakuki HiEERA Development Projects Pvt Ltd, was held on May 2 at Anü Mai Amphitheatre in Chuchuyimlang Village, Mokokchung. Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Commissioner & Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce in Kohima, Nagaland, served as the Chief Guest.

Kekhrievor Kevichusa, in his address, announced Chuchuyimlang Village as the First HiEERA Village of Nagaland.

Kevichusa said that the celebration of Moatsü is not limited to just cultural extravaganza, confined to the village or the community, but extends to inviting neighboring villages and tribes to celebrate together. It showcases not only cultural diversity but also fosters community bonding, reflecting a show of friendship and unity that can serve as a lesson for all of Nagaland.

Kevichusa stated that the laying of the foundation stone of Yaküki HiEERA Development Projects Pvt Ltd in Chuchuyimlang holds special significance for him as an officer of the Department of Industries, Director, and his fellow officers. He emphasized that it is the first time a village has presented a ‘Holistic Vision’ for development, soliciting assistance from the department to achieve their goals. He assured the department’s support, acknowledging that such a comprehensive development proposal is rare and vital for addressing the pressing issue of unemployment.

He highlighted the need for economic self-development and independence, stating that solely relying on government jobs is not a viable solution. Instead, he advocated for the successful implementation of development projects in villages like Chuchuyimlang to provide gainful employment. He believes that the HiEERA Village Development Project will be a pioneering initiative for economic development and economic independence in Nagaland.

Furthermore, he emphasized that community bonding can extend beyond cultural ties to include economic development with community involvement, marking the next step in community cohesion. He expressed pride in being part of the celebration and expressed hope for the project’s success, with a vision of it being replicated across all districts of the state.

‘When one talks about community bonding, it is not only about cultural bonding, but it can also involve economic development with community involvement, which is said to be the next step of community bonding,” stated Kevichüsa. He expressed pride in being part of this celebration and stated that he would be even prouder to see the project successfully take off and replicated in all the districts of the state. He wished success to the Chairman of Chuchuyimlang and his colleagues, assuring them that the department would assist and keenly observe the development. He also mentioned that steps would be taken to ensure similar initiatives are undertaken in other districts.

While the government is always ready to help, Kevichüsa mentioned, it requires some push from below; a demand from the community for better services, transparency, and completion of projects. He emphasized that the effectiveness of government departments also depends on the demand for excellent services from the village and tribal communities. He looked forward to this project becoming a pioneering forum for everyone.

Ao Sanen Pongen, Chairman of Chuchuyimlang Village Council, in his welcome address, conveyed Moatsü greetings to all attendees and stated that the uniqueness of the Moatsü Festival in Chuchuyimlang lies in the invitation of neighboring villages and tribes to come together and celebrate, seeking blessings from God. He highlighted this year’s unique celebration: the laying of the foundation stone for the Yaküki HiEERA Development Projects Pvt Ltd.

He mentioned that the Empretec India Foundation program fosters a culture of paradigm shift, moving from dependence on government jobs to self-reliance and entrepreneurship. With this understanding, he and interested individuals successfully undertook the primer. He expressed hope that the foundation stone laid today would serve as a model for future projects and with support from the Department of Industries and Commerce, similar projects could be initiated in different districts of the state. He believed this program would enhance the socio-economic foundation, particularly for the less privileged, contributing to community peace.

P. Tokugha Achumi, Director of Industries and Commerce Kohima, Nagaland, and Arnab Chakrabortty, Director of Empretec India Foundation, also delivered short speeches.

A Moatsü Medley was presented by Medemsanger, In-charge of Chuchuyimlang Students’ Union, followed by three cultural extravaganzas.

In the evening session, the Moatsü Fest Open Concert celebrated the Yaküki HiEERA Development Projects Pvt Ltd, featuring Sunep Lemtur as the main artist, along with other performers. The winner of the Online Ao Moatsü Folk Song Contest, Luen Longchar, was announced, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a free audio recording sponsored by Sunep Lemtur.
