Chümoukedima’s Sammogooting Stadium built in 21 months at a cost of ₹ 9.5 cr

The newly inaugurated Sammogooting Stadium at D.C. Office Complex, Chümoukedima District, was constructed in 21 months at a cost of ₹ 9,51,51,766. The project was also the first constructed directly by the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), Nagaland since its inception.

This was informed by Er. Sungtiba Amer, Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE), CAWD during the inauguration program held on 24 January 2025. The event was graced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the Special Guest. It was also attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R Zeliang, among other Ministers, Advisors and government officials.

Presenting the technical report for the Sammogooting Stadium, the ACE stated that the project was conceptualized during 2023-2024 and commended the contractors, M/s J.K Construction, for completing the work five months ahead of time.

The construction of the Sammogooting Stadium at Chümoukedima included:

– Rostrum with a sitting capacity of 70 persons at the First Floor including Players Room (2 Nos.), Media Room and pantry in the Ground Floor

– Gallery with a sitting capacity of 1000 persons with provisions for First Aid room, Toilets for gents & ladies with PwD friendly design

– Standard size football ground with Internal and External Drainage System, which is probably the first public stadium with this technical specification

– Standard Track field

– Blacktopped road from Main Highway to the stadium and inside the stadium with parking facilities

– Security fencing around the entire Stadium with 3 Nos. of Gate

– Deep borewell with Overhead Water Reservoir
