The Civil Defence Training and Capacity Building for Wardens and Volunteers for Chozuba Sub-Division under Phek district was organised by the Department of Home Guards, Civil Defence & State Disaster Response Force in collaboration with district administration under the flagship programme of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India at Vamuzo Memorial Town, Phek on November 28.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Diana Patton in her keynote address said the volunteers were in the service of the government, and the local volunteers would get an opportunity to serve at the national level in the near future.
Dr Patton also expressed gratitude to the resource persons for imparting different training skills, and encouraged the volunteers to avail the opportunity with commitment. The trained volunteers would have the privilege of serving the people in time of disaster, she added.

In his welcome address, Sub-Inspector, PL- Commander of Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF, Imener said Civil Defence stands for safety of the community, and renders selfless and non- profit service in times of situation like disaster and calamity.
The wardens and volunteers comprised of personnel from towns and villages from the sub-divisions of the district.
