The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) today convened an Emergency Federal Assembly at Anatongre village under Shamator District. The meeting resolved to hold a mass walkathon movement on 7 October in all the administrative headquarters of the Eastern jurisdiction, as part of its first phase of agitation.
The Emergency Federal Assembly was held to further strengthen the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) 26 August 2022 resolution to abstain from participating in any election process of the State and Central governments on the backdrop of demand for Frontier Nagaland.
The federation and tribunals with seven federating units had a lengthy deliberation over the aforementioned ENPO resolution and adopted a two-point resolution, ENSF President Chingmak Chang informed.
Chang said the house resolved to hold a mass public Walkathon Movement in all the administrative headquarters within the ambit of Eastern Nagaland, and for the same the seven tribal Federation Units under the umbrella of ENSF have been directed to amalgamate village level clusters in respective tribal jurisdiction to embark the movement.
The seven tribal student units under ENSF are Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU), Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU), United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) and Yimchungru Akheru Arihako (YAA).
The federation also appealed to the Government of India to take the demand of Frontier Nagaland seriously and expedite the process at the earliest.
Chang stated that at this crucial juncture, on the backdrop of the demand for a separate statehood ‘Frontier Nagaland’, if any organizations or individual(s) holding post in any frontal organization in any capacity try to jeopardize the ultimate inspiration for Frontier Nagaland, the federation will initiate a stringent action against the defaulters in public domain.
The President of ENSF asked the seven units of the federation to remain vigilant and prepared for any further course of actions to be initiated by the federation.
