CM Rio continues appeal to Centre for restoration of peace in Manipur: NDPP

Kohima: Party reaffirms commitment to extend assistance for restoration of order and peace in Manipur

The NDPP has asserted that Nagaland Chief Minister and party chief Neiphiu Rio has been vocal about the ongoing situation in Manipur and continues to appeal to the Centre to for restoration of law and order in the state. The party also mentioned in its communique released on Sunday that CM Rio had sent relief and assistance to the victims of the crisis in Manipur.

Nagaland’s Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) reiterated its concern for the over the prevailing humanitarian crisis in Manipur and appealed the Government of India to take “strong and decisive actions to restore normalcy and also regain the trust and confidence of the citizens.”

Regarding the incident in Kangpokpi district where a video of two women being paraded after being disrobed by a mob, the NDPP stated that it agrees with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said that the entire country has been shamed. The party, while reaffirming its commitment to extend assistance for restoration of order and peace in Manipur at the earliest, hoped that the victims will get justice.
