Nagaland Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, along with Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang and Minister, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, visited the Old Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site and took stock of the landslide-affected stretch along National Highway-29 in Kohima on July 21.

They assessed the severity of the landslide and explored both immediate and long-term mitigation measures to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic along this critical route. During the visit, the Chief Minister held discussions with various stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive plan addressing the issue.

Officials present included the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Superintendent of Police Kohima, PWD National Highway officials, landowners, village leaders from Jotsoma, and other district officials.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordinated action among all concerned departments and community stakeholders to address the problem effectively.

Authorities are initiating necessary interventions to stabilize the affected area and minimize further disruptions along NH-29.
