Congress and INDIA consensus candidate for Nagaland Lok Sabha seat, S Supongmeren Jamir said on Friday that the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio defending the BJP during the campaigns saying that BJP is not anti-Christian and anti-minority confirms that he represents the BJP-RSS.

Speaking at his campaign rally at Jalukie, Peren, Jamir also that CM Rio’s remarks despite of not being a BJP member, shows that he is under the control of the BJP.

The Congress candidate further pointed out that as per the Representation of the People Act, 1951, only a national party is entitled to be given the serial number one on the ballot paper or on the Electronic Voting Machine and for this Lok Sabha election, the NDPP candidate has been given this slot. This justifies that NDPP represents BJP, Jamir said.

During his visit to Jalukie town, the Congress candidate approached some autorickshaw drivers in Jalukie and introduced himself. In his interaction, Supongmeren Jamir highlighted Congress’ guarantee to provide social security and pension for gig workers such as autorickshaws drivers, taxi drivers and delivery personnel which is mentioned in manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2024.

He appealed to them to vote for Congress so that they can make these policies a reality.
