CNCCI announces indefinite voluntary business shutter down from April 24

The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) today announced a ‘Democratic Indefinite Voluntary Business Shutter Down’ starting from April 24.

The protest was been announced in a “collective action against the State Government for equitable justice in the nomination of District CCI representatives to the District ULBs-and expressing disappointment over the State Government’s step-motherly treatment we would like to update you on the subsequent actions taken”.

“The CNCCI has exhausted all possible means, including a formal appeal to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and issuing a press release warning of a democratic protest if justice was not delivered by 20th April 2025. Unfortunately, the State Government has not responded,” stated the CNCCI.

In light of this, and in accordance with the demand of the nine aggrieved District CCls, the CNCCI announced a “Democratic Indefinite Voluntary Business Shutter Down” starting from April 24, which will also include banking institutions.

2. Gas stations/Petrol Pumps
3. Taxi services

Additionally, vehicular movement, educational institutions, and all government offices will remain unaffected and function as usual.
“This shutter down is entirely voluntary. We request all District Chambers to ensure the protest remains peaceful, without any untoward incidents,” added the CNCCI.

Further, the second phase of the protest will be deliberated on April 25 during the Executive Council Meeting, to be attended by all Presidents of the District CCls.
