A combined Christmas celebration of all the Chakhesang churches in Kohima under the theme, “The word became flesh” (John 1: 14) was held on Christmas day. The celebration was organized under the aegis of the Kohima Chakhesang Pastor Fellowship which is usually held after every five years.
According to a press statement issued by Celebration Publicity Committee, approximately 13,000 members from the Chakhesang churches in Kohima irrespective of denomination affiliations attended the celebration worship service held at Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Convention centre and subsequently joined the mass celebratory feast at NSF & NPMHR Solidarity park.
Speaking on the theme, NBCC General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhuo Keyho, emphasised on the importance of Grace in the biblical terms and termed grace as the cross of Jesus Christ. “With the coming of Jesus Christ, humanity was accorded full grace which is at all free came into the lives of all believers where hopeless becomes hope, homeless were sheltered, salvation provided to all believers, darkness to light became the order of the day for all Christians,” said Keyho.
Keyho also reminded that christmas is a time for reconciliation, forgiveness, making family decision to live in Christlike manner.

The feast Committeee Convenor Jolayi Nienu, in his message acknowledged the cooperations and moral supports of all its people for making the celebration under massive accomplishment and further sought better cooperations in the coming years.
Special gratitude was conveyed to Minister for Power and Paliamentary affairs, KG. Kenye, MLA and Advisor, Kudecho Khamo, MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero, Commissioner & Secretary, Visielie Kezo (IRS) for their immense financial contributions towards the celebrations. Meanwhile, Chkhungo Puro, Pastor, CBCK led the worship service, Rev. Vikuo Rhi offered the opening prayer, while all the churches youth choir presented special number. Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao delivered greetings.
