A community ring well was officially inaugurated at Daklane Ward-7 on Saturday by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Councillor Kazheli Tungoe. The project was executed under the 15th Finance Commission (Tied) Fund, aimed at addressing the water needs of the local populace.
Speaking at the brief inaugural programme, Councillor Kazheli Tungoe highlighted the importance of clean and accessible water for every household and stressed the KMC’s ongoing efforts to improve basic civic amenities across the wards. She expressed hope that the new facility would greatly benefit the residents of Daklane, especially during periods of water scarcity.

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation to the KMC for taking up the initiative and acknowledged the significance of the ring well in ensuring water security for the locality.
The project Is part of a series of development initiatives being implemented under the 15th Finance Commission to enhance public infrastructure in Kohima’s urban wards.
