Computer lab, donated by CHRP Mumbai, inaugurated in Longleng

Longleng: SP urges students to use technology for benefit of society as a whole

A computer lab was inaugurated at Phom Lempong Higher Secondary School in Longleng on Monday by Superintendent of Police Longleng Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS.

The lab consisting of 10 computer sets with all accessories was donated by Apni Pathshala of Community Health Research Programme Charitable Trust, Mumbai and established in collaboration with SP Office Longleng, Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) and Phom Lempong Hr Sec School.

In the inaugural program, Dr Kaur explained about the importance of information and technology while also stressing on cyber crimes. She encouraged the students to learn about science and technology with an aim to build a more progressive and safe society. The SP also urged students to use technology for the benefit of the society as a whole, and work hard instead of getting involved in drugs or other intoxicants.

N. Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary of the PBCA, led the dedicatory and prayer ceremony.

The inaugural program of the computer lab was chaired by Sentijungla Jamir, teacher and welcome address was given by Hamyep Phom, Principal, PLHSS.
