Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio led the congratulation messages for Sano Vamuzo after she has been conferred the Padma Shri Award 2024 for “spearheading peace campaigns and championing women’s representation”.
CM in his message on X said, “Congratulations to Sano Vamuzo on being conferred the Padma Shri award for her distinguished service in the field of Social Work. I wish her good health and long life in the service of people. Best wishes for all her future endeavours.”
Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton in his message on X said that the Padma Shri honour for Vamuzo is a fitting recognition of her tireless dedication and invaluable contributions to the Naga society.
Y Patton wrote, “Congratulations to Smti Sano Vamuzo Ji on being conferred with Padma Shri. This honour is a fitting recognition of her tireless dedication and invaluable contributions to our society. May her journey continue to be a guiding light for all!”
Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) S Phangnon Konyak hailed Sano Vamuzo as a glowing example of inspiration and dedication.

Advisor for Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, S Kiusumew Yimkhiung too congratulated Vamuzo. In his message on X, he wrote, “Congratulations Ama Sano Vamuzo for your great contributions and lifetime of service earning national recognition. God bless you and keep you”.
BJP Nagaland State conveyed its congratulations to Sano Vamuzo on the honour. “From being the founding President of the Naga Mothers’ Association in 1984 to becoming the First Chairperson of the Nagaland State Commission for Women, Smti Sano Vamuzo ji has relentlessly worked in various capacities for the causes of peace and women and child empowerment spanning a period of more than 40 years. A great and befitting recognition honouring her lifetime’s work!” the Party said ion its message.
