Advisor for soil and water conservation and IPR, and BJP leader Imkong L. Imchen, today said that Congress should seek forgiveness from the Naga people for the atrocities committed against the Nagas for more than two decades.
Addressing the press at his official residence here in Kohima, Imchen slammed the Congress party and reminded the people that it was under the Congress regime where unimaginable and unbelievable atrocities were carried out against the Naga people during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
Claiming that former Prime Minister Late Jawaharlal Nehru had said, “even if all the rivers run by Naga blood I don’t care,” Imchen remarked that Nehru’s stand has caused the Naga people very dearly.
“All these atrocities committed under Naga people were done by the Congress government. They are the one who committed all such unbelievable, untold stories,” Imkong Imchen alleged.

Taking note of the allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party made by the Congress party and some church organizations that BJP is an anti-Christian party, Imchen said, “those opinions were untenable and were not in conformity with reality.”
Imchen alleged that no other political party except for Congress had turned churches in Nagaland into military concentration camps during the Naga movement for freedom.
Taking a jab at the Congress manifesto, Imchen slammed the Congress party for “encouraging homosexuality” and said, “BJP is against and will never agree to that.”
“Congress wants to bring homosexuality to the Naga people which is a Christian majority state,” he added.
The Advisor also stated that BJP is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Nagaland. Imchen said that BJP was and is being attacked from various quarters whereas, in this parliamentary election in Nagaland, the NDPP and Congress are the Parties that are contesting.
However, Imchen exuded confidence that Modi will form the Government at the Centre and PDA candidate Dr. Chumben Murry will represent the Nagas in the Lok Sabha.
Further, he said that the state needs to maintain a cordial relationship with the centre pointing out that Nagaland is a consumer society.
