Construction of new Wokha DC office complex to begin this year

Construction work on the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Wokha is set to begin within the current financial year, officials from the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) confirmed during an inspection visit to the project site.

Assistant Chief Engineer, CAWD, Er. Sungtiba Amer, who led the inspection, informed that the project was recently approved by the State Level Project Implementation and Management Committee (SLPIMC) and will be undertaken under the State Earmarked Projects category.

The proposed complex Is expected to feature a G+1 structure with two basement floors, housing various administrative departments under one roof to improve coordination and governance.

“The new complex is a vital step toward administrative development in the district,” Er. Amer stated, adding that the Wokha DC Office Complex project will officially commence within this financial year.

Inspection of ongoing construction DC Office in Tseminyu

The inspection team also visited the ongoing construction site of the DC Office Complex in Tseminyu. The Tseminyu project, sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, had faced delays due to site allocation issues but is now progressing steadily, officials said.

It was informed that the building will be a G+2 RCC structure equipped with a 150-seater conference hall, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities (PWDs), and provisions for an elevator.

Er. Amer emphasized the importance of departmental inspections to ensure the quality and progress of the work, urging the contractor to accelerate construction within the stipulated timeline.

Additionally, the inspection team reviewed ongoing works for the VVPAT strong room of the Election Department and the flat-type quarters for administrative officers in Tseminyu.

Er. Amer expressed gratitude to the state government and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for sanctioning key infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening administrative capabilities. He also expressed optimism that the contractors would complete the projects on time, facilitating smoother governance in the respective districts.

The CAWD continues to conduct district-wide inspections of projects under the General Administration Department, which is responsible for developing and maintaining critical administrative infrastructure across Nagaland.
