Coordination Meeting Held for “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” Campaign in Peren

Peren: Deputy Commissioner Peren emphasized the need for coordination among departments

A coordination meeting was convened on August 3, 2023, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Chamber in Peren to discuss the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” Campaign. Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar IAS, addressed the attendees and informed them that the Government of India has announced this campaign as the culminating event of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The primary objective of the campaign is to pay tribute to the brave souls who made supreme sacrifices for the nation. As part of the ceremonies, memorials will be erected in all panchayats (villages) and towns across the country to express gratitude. These ceremonies will involve hoisting the National Flags, taking pledges while holding soil (Mitti), and planting 75 saplings of indigenous trees.

DC Vineet Kumar highlighted the timeline of events, including the collection of soil from various locations, leading up to the grand finale event at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The campaign’s local programs are scheduled between August 9 and 15, 2023, with subsequent levels taking place in the following days. The state-level programs are planned for August 25, and the grand finale is set to occur in New Delhi on August 29 or 30, 2023.

Deputy Commissioner Peren emphasized the need for coordination among departments, particularly advising the PD DRDA to collaborate with BDOs to identify sites for erecting memorials in recognized villages. He stressed the importance of successfully conducting the campaign and requested the cooperation of all concerned departments.
