A coordination meeting was held with Civil Society Organisation pertaining to the conduct of ULB election to Seyochung Town Council at the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office chamber, Seyochung, Kiphire on 1st June, 2024 informed DIPR.

The coordination meeting was attended by representatives from CSOs including Eastern Sumi Hoho, United Sangtam Likhum Phumji, AST, Seyochung Town Joint Community and Town GBs.

Imsenperong Wati, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, presided over the meeting and highlighted that the upcoming ULB election is a local election. He also provided an overview of the meeting objectives and invited the members to share their opinion on the matter.

K. Tokishe Sema, ESH President and K. Vikiya, USLP Executive Member, emphasised that the public emergency declaration by the ENPO remains in effect. They reaffirmed their stand to the Chenmoho Resolution of the ENPO, expressing their intent to abstain from the election.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that the Government will proceed with the standard election processes and preparation for conduct of ULB election. He appealed to the house to extend full cooperation in ensuring that law and order issues do not arise during the period.
