Coordination meeting on ULB Election held in Pfutsero, Zunheboto and Tseminyu

The Election Observer for Pfutsero Town Council, V.Lovitoly sema, Joint Secretary had a co-ordination meeting with Administration, Police, Government Officials and Public leaders at ADC’s conference Hall, Pfutsero, Phek on June 14, informed a DIPR.

She called upon the members to maintained peaceful conduct during ULB election and requested the public leaders of every ward to maintain proper polling station for the smooth functioning during the election process.

Returning Officer, Pfutsero Town Council, Moakumzuk Tsudir also advice the officers and colony leaders to strictly follow the election guidelines. The ARO, C. Phuniang highlighted on the topic Model Code of Conduct (MCC), and SDPO, Pfutsero highlighted on the Law and Order situations.

Zunheboto

The 2nd District level coordination meeting for the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Elections was held at DC’s conference hall today, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali, (IAS).

Speaking at the meeting, DC said that, Zunheboto District and its citizens are being appreciated by all in the last few years because of its peaceful environment being maintained during the processes, conduct and post-election period with tenacity by the people and stakeholders and appealed to continue to maintain the reputation.

Additional Secretary & Election Observer, Zunheboto Yanpvuthung Kikon, while addressing the meeting highlighted that, government in its own course have come up with many means to maintain peaceful procedures during elections and he was firm to continue, in order to work out cohesive ways to create a non-violent election. He further appealed to all CSOs for cooperation from all ways possible. The candidates were also informed not to misuse the resources and any unfair means shall not be tolerated, so that the district reputation of peaceful and clean elections is created, which is his main objective, he added.

SP Zunheboto, Kupe Kapfo while highlighting on the security arrangements asked the candidates to discourage use of any intoxicant by saying that every candidate’s decision to contest was for a noble cause and so the effort should also be noble. The security personnel will be sectioned into four sectors and will be monitored with full vigil by the head office, he added. In conclusion he asked the candidates to be careful of any electoral offences, which shall be least tolerated.

ADC & RO, ULB Elections, Keyirangding Hegui further briefed the attendees on the ULB Elections MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT, focussing on important points like, not to indulge in advertisements through hoardings, posters, stickers etc. without the consent of the owner or anyone concerned, use of loudspeaker in the restricted time. He further said that setting up of youth camps or mess for campaigning purposes are completely banned. He also appealed to the GBs, Councils, election officials, government officials and all other concerned for free and fair elections in the district.

Tseminyu

A district level coordination committee meeting was held for the smooth conduct of the  ULB election to the Tseminyu Town Council at DC’s office chamber, Tseminyu  on June 14, informed a DIPR report.

The district level coordination committee, Tseminyu consists of the following members:  DC Tseminyu, Rohit Singh (IAS) as the Convenor; Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Longasen Lotha; EAC (Hq) Ruokuosetuo Tetso; Addl. Superintendent of Police, Lanu Aier NPS; all wards GBs, Tseminyu Town council members and all the political parties president as members.
