ADC & RO, Wokha K. Furhesie Nyuwi convened a meeting with all the candidates and political parties in regard with the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies election 2024 at DC’s conference hall, Wokha on June 14, informed DIPR.
Election Observer for Wokha Town Council & Addl. Secretary, Hiazu Meru lauded the Wokha District Election Machineries headed by the Deputy Commissioner, Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officers and other subordinate officials for making all logistic arrangements in accordance with the laid down regulation. The Observer urged all candidates to follow the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines and regulation to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the ULB election. He also appealed to all candidates to extend co-operation and be a part for the successful conduct of the election.

ADC & RO, Wokha informed the candidates to obtain prior permission from the Police Nodal Officer (Addl. SP, Wokha) as and when procession or campaign is to be conducted by any intending candidates.
Police Nodal Officer (Addl. SP, Wokha) Soriso, appealed to all candidates not to let their supporters/voters to work under abusive substances and avoid recruiting voters from outside their colonies to avoid untoward incidents in the district. He further appealed to the candidates to avoid violence and send a good message across the district for others to follow.
SDO (C) & ARO, Wokha Tsidi briefed the candidates about the appointment of polling agents and election agents on the day of polling and their role and responsibilities and also informed that ballot for voters on election duty who have been drafted for election duty will commence from 20th June 2024 and urged all concerned to act accordingly.
