The Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) successfully held its 72nd Annual General Meeting at Kithagha Union Baptist Church (KUBC), Kithagha village, Tseminyu district on 27–29 January.
Rev Haiwalo Apon, executive secretary CRBC, welcomed the constituent members and adopted the session.
Yhunthonglo Khing, president CRBC, chaired and opened the annual session for agendas, and presentation of reports by different departments and ministries and sub-committees. The host church was acknowledged for its exemplary hospitality to all the churches under the Council.
In total, 236 delegates from 42 churches and one fellowship under the Council participated in the three-day annual general meeting event and adopted the following resolutions.
- The Council affirms the all-sufficiency of the word of God, the Bible, and firmly holds it as the sole and final authority in all matters of faith and morals of the church pertaining to contemporary issues confronting the society.
- The Council acknowledged that God has given the present generation in the hands of His church, that they are accountable and be committed to teach, guide, and foster them in the ways of God which will also safeguard the faith of the next generation.
- The Council reaffirms its commitment to the Clean Election Movement, and appeals to its members to uphold and honour their pledge, and that the council will not endorse any candidate(s) or participate in any events and functions contradicting to Biblical teachings.
