The Pungro Town Council commenced the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign on September 14 as part of a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and sanitation. The event was launched at the ADC’s Office, Pungro, Kiphire under the theme “Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata”, informed the DIPR.
To effectively implement this cleanliness drive, the EAC Pungro, Yitachu Thur invited the participation of students, NGOs, ward chairmen, stakeholders, and department officials. He emphasized that creativity, innovation, and ideas on how to tackle cleanliness issues will not come from outside; they will have to come from within. Every community has its own set of challenges and difficulties, but it also has its own strengths.
