New Delhi: PM Modi welcomes news of release of hostages by Hamas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his opening remarks at the Virtual G20 Leaders’ Summit on Wednesday, stressed that it is crucial that conflict between Israel and Hamas, does not take on any kind of regional form.

Sharing his concerns on the insecurity and instability in the West Asia region, he said that the Summit was a sign “we are sensitive to all these issues and stand together to resolve them.” Urging that the leaders can strengthen their voices against terror and violence, and for humanity, PM Modi assured that India is prepared to walk together shoulder to shoulder, to meet the expectations of the world and of humanity.

Terrorism is unacceptable, he said, while also welcoming the news of the release of hostages by Hamas and hoping for the swift release of all hostages.

PM Modi also pressed that ensuring the timely and continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected by the Israel and Palestine is imperative.
