In a joint coordination meeting convened at the MMC Conference Hall on March 12, 2024, representatives from various civil society organizations in Mokokchung district came together to address the issue of fluctuating pork prices. After extensive deliberation, a unanimous resolution was reached to prohibit the import of pigs from outside the district until local pork prices stabilize.
The decision, aimed at reducing the concerns of residents and consumers within Mokokchung district, requests patience and understanding during this period of inconvenience. Earlier, the house appointed the president of All Ward Union Mokokchung Town as the seasonal chairman, and the chairman of All Ward Union Changtongya as the seasonal secretary of the meeting.

Representatives from various influential bodies including All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT), Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Mokokchung Town GBs Union, Mokokchung District GBs Association, All Ward Union Changtongya, Business Union Changtongya, All Ward Union Tuli, Business Association Tuli, Tzudikong Adhoc Town Committee, and All Ward Union Mangkolemba, were present during the joint meeting.
It is worth noting that pork meat has not been available in the markets of Mokokchung district for over a month, leaving both restaurants and the general public awaiting its availability.
