The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has strongly condemned the heinous crime perpetrated against a 2nd Year Student pursuing General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) at District Hospital Dimapur in the morning of February 24, 2025 by Likao Ezung, Sweeper at the District Hospital Dimapur. “This despicable act against an innocent student is not only a grave crime but also an attack on the safety and dignity of women in our civilized society,” stated the CSU.
The victim, a bonafide member of the Chakhesang Students’ Union, was subjected to a horrific ordeal in a place meant for healing and care. The Union noted that such an incident was deeply alarming, requiring swift and stringent action from the concerned authorities.
It urged the law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrator and any other individual involve in the crime, face the full force of the Law without delay.

“Justice must be delivered at the earliest to restore faith in the system and to send a strong message that such heinous acts will not be tolerated. The Chakhesang Students’ Union stands in full solidarity with the victim and her family in this time of distress,” stated the CSU.
It called upon Civil Societies, Student Bodies, and all right-thinking individuals to stand united against such barbaric acts and demand immediate justice. Furthermore, the Union appealed to the authorities to strengthen security measures in public institutions to ensure the safety of students, healthcare workers, and all citizens.
“We will not remain silent while such crimes continue to threaten the safety and dignity of our people. Justice must prevail!,” added the Union.
