The Chakhesang Students’ Union, on Monday, seized three NHIDCL vehicles and one government registered vehicle as part of its ongoing agitation.
On May 11, the Union declared the indefinite blockage on the vehicular movement of NHIDCL, M/S Ratna, and all Government-registered vehicles along the stretch of NH-29, particularly the Chakhabama-Kikruma Package II, from May 12 onwards. The blockage was imposed following the failure and negligence of the NHIDCL and the EPC contractor, M/S Ratna Infrastructure Project Private Limited, to execute the Chakhabama-Kikruma Package II project.
In a press release issued this evening, the CSU informed that the following government vehicles are exempted:
- Medical Services
- Administrative Services
- Fire and Emergency Services
- Police and Paramilitary Forces
- Power and PHE Department Staff on Duty

“Despite prior warnings issued on May 11, 2025, which were widely disseminated through the media and social media platforms to NHIDCL, EPC contractor M/s Ratna Infrastructure Projects Private Limited, and the operator of the Government-Registered Vehicle, it is unfortunate that the Union had to seize 3 NHIDCL Vehicles and 1 Government-Registered Vehicle. This clearly reflects a lackadaisical attitude and utter disregard for the directives of the CSU,” stated the Union.
It further reiterated its unwavering commitment and stand toward its demands and to remain steadfast in its pursuit.
“The agitation will continue with full intensity until the demands of the CSU are met. All concerned parties are required to ensure strict compliance and adherence to this directive,” cautioned the CSU.
