The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has indefinitely declared the blockage of vehicular movement of NHIDCL, M/S Ratna, and all Government-registered vehicles along the stretch of NH-29, particularly the Chakhabama-Kikruma Package II, from May 12, 6 am.
The blockage has been imposed following the failure and negligence of the NHIDCL and the EPC contractor, M/S Ratna Infrastructure Project Private Limited, to execute the Chakhabama-Kikruma Package II project.
In a press statement issued on May 11, the Union stated that a reasonable timeframe of over six months (October 16, 2024, to May 11, 2025) was provided to the NHIDCL and the EPC contractor, M/S Ratna Infrastructure Project Private Limited, to execute the Chakhabama-Kikruma Package II project as per the Union’s demands.

“Unfortunately, both parties have failed miserably to meet their commitments, thereby causing immense inconvenience to commuters and the general public,” stated the CSU.
Despite the ultimatum issued on May 2, 2025, and the peaceful protest held on May 10, 2025, the Union found the NHIDCL and M/S Ratner’s response “to be appalling and irresponsible”.
It further added, “This lack of accountability compels the Union to take further action.”
In this regard, the Union has directed all stakeholders to adhere to the directive. It also cautioned that any incidents that occur will be the sole responsibility of the NHIDCL.
