CTAN and NNQF extend gratitude; clarify final victory lies in just resolution of requisition issue and restoration of due process

The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) has jointly issued a statement of gratitude and clarification to every individual, union, organisation, institution, and well-wisher who supported them during their protest against the arbitrary absorption of the 147 Assistant Professors and Librarians in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland.

In the statement the two organisations, acknowledged the solidarity and contributions by student bodies, organizations, research forums, within Nagaland and across the country, and the federating units of CTAN, considering it a shared stand for justice, meritocracy, and transparency in public service recruitment

Appreciation was also extended to the members of the media fraternity in Nagaland and beyond. The organisations acknowledged the media’s relentless dedication in covering their protest. “Your presence on the ground, shoulder to shoulder with us, gave power to our voices and visibility to our cause. Through your lens and words, the truth reached the people, and our struggle found an audience far beyond the streets. Your resilience, compassion, and sense of duty have been a source of strength in these trying times. We are deeply moved and profoundly grateful,” it expressed.

The joint statement also acknowledged the various study halls whose proprietors generously opened  spaces for the organisations to hold meetings, discussions, and coordination activities. The organisations also received support moral and materials support  from the coaching centres, for which they expressed, “Your support uplifted many of our members and reminded us that the academic community remains united in the pursuit of merit and fairness.”

“We thank the Kezekevi Thehouba members, United Traders, All Nagaland Taxi Association, Etu Kwa Toh  group and the Hogsrollers for their generous gesture in providing refreshments. Your thoughtful contribution went a long way in sustaining our members during the protest,” stated the NNQF and CTAN.

The patience, professionalism, and respectful coordination of the police personnel was also acknowledged.

Further, the organisations extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO), the Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU), and the Quick Response Team (QRT) for their active support, services and provisions of supplies during the protest. “Your presence ensured the safety of protesting members and passers-by, reflecting a community rooted in responsibility and unity,” shared the NNQF and CTAN.

The organisations also thanked the individuals, groups, and well-wishers who extended help in cash and kind: whether by providing food, water, financial contributions, transportation, or logistical aid. The statement noted that the quiet but powerful acts of generosity and solidarity carried the protestors through both physically and emotionally.

“A special word of gratitude to the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and other church ministries for lifting us up in prayer and spiritual intercession. Your spiritual intervention gave us strength, peace, and courage in moments of uncertainty.  To all the parents and elders who stood with us not only in word, but in prayer, in thought, and in encouragement. Your belief in us gave us the strength to stand tall,” expressed the organisations.

However, the organisations clarified that the movement is far from over. “What we see now is only a symbolic gain, a decoy trophy at best. The true and final victory lies ahead in the just resolution of the requisition issue and the restoration of due process. Therefore, we humbly request everyone to continue to uphold us in your thoughts, in your prayers, and in your unwavering support as we remain steadfast in our pursuit of what is rightfully ours,” it appealed.

In conclusion, the NNQF and CTAN affirmed its commitment to remain vigilant and united in the face of any future injustice. “May this movement be a call to all the Nagas: to stand as one people, for what is right, and for what is just,” it expressed.
