CTAN demands scrapping of H&FW’s ‘Special Recruitment Drive’, requisition of 329 posts to NPSC/NSSB

Kohima: H&FW’s Order violates NPSC Rule 9(4), Article 16 under Constitution of India: CTAN

The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has demanded for the cancellation of the ‘Special Recruitment Drive’ to fill 280 posts in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland for the welfare of aspirants in the State and particularly the medical aspirants.

The CTAN has said it will “never allow and compromise” with the Order issued by the Department on 20th August 2024 which it claims is a violation of NPSC Rule 9(4) which states that all posts both technical/ non-technical carrying the Pay Band – Rs 5200 – 20200, G.P 2800/PM and above to be requisitioned to NPSC for open examination. It is also a violation of Article 16 under Constitution of India, it added.

The CTAN reminded that in an advertisement dated 4th August 2020, the H&FW department had stated that all appointments will be on temporary basis for 12 months or direct recruitment through NPSC whichever is earlier and that the appointees shall have no right to claim for regularization of the temporary service on any ground whatsoever.

Further, the Association has demanded for the requisition of the following posts to NPSC/NSSB as per the vacancies dated 2nd November 2022:

Medical Officer- 96, Junior specialist – 41, Medical Officer, AYUSH-21, Junior Dental Surgeon – 5, Research Scientist – 6, Audiologist-cum-Speech therapist – 1, Staff Nurse -129, Laboratory Technician – 6, Audiology Technician – 1, ECG technician – 10, OT technician – 13.

The CTAN has said that if the Department fails to comply to its demands, the Association will take its own course of action democratically starting 26th August 2024.
