The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has launched a signature campaign in support of the demand for extension age relaxation for NPSC/NSSB aspirants by additional five years. CTAN Convenor Er Meshenlo Kath informed today that over 700 signatures have already been collected since the campaign was initiated.

Addressing the media at Congress Bhawan, Kohima, Er Kath said that the aspirants have every right to ask for further age relaxation. The earlier age limit of 35 was increased to 37, which was in effect for two years due to COVID-19 but expired in 2023.

He informed that the group of aspirants submitted their first representation on 22nd July 2024 appealing for the extension age relaxation to 37 years to all entry into government service. The second representation was submitted on 16th August 2024 where they requested for the issue to be discussed during the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly. However, the State Government has not found a definitive solution and the discussions have merely served to highlight the issue, he added.

Further, Er Kath informed that today, CTAN members met with the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, to voice their concerns and he assured them he would address the matter.

The CTAN Convenor highlighted the frustration among the youth and urged the government to pay attention to their concerns.

Furthermore, Kath also mentioned that the government’s significant delays in issuing advertisements have also impacted the exam system.
