The Day two of Olivian Fest 2023, themed “Harmonising Arts, Igniting Passion,” was commemorated with a display of cultural celebrations at Mt. Olive College Kohima (MOCK) on Thursday. The festivities were a vibrant tapestry of diverse cultures, featuring mesmerizing folk dances, enchanting traditional songs, and an array of splendid traditional attires.
Tokheni Sema, Chairperson and Managing Director of MOCK’s Governing Body, delivered an address, emphasizing the pivotal role of celebrating diversity. Sema urged students to embrace differences, fostering an inclusive environment that transcends tribal distinctions.
Her call for active student engagement echoed the importance of building connections beyond tribal lines, fostering unity and understanding.
The Guest Speaker for the cultural day, Kuputo Achumi, Deputy Director of the Department of Rural Development, Nagaland, graced the occasion. Achumi urged students to embrace their culture with pride, emphasizing the value of preserving the God-given heritage. Highlighting the five aspects of culture—language, values and beliefs, symbols, rituals, and norms—Achumi encouraged students to grasp the significance of their culture and traditions.

The event was honored by the presence of Neibulie Metha, Chairman of Daklane Panchayat, and Khevito T Shohe, Member of MOCK’s Governing Body, alongside enthusiastic participation from members of the alumni association.
The program, compered by Keneikhonuo Zhotso, Asst. Professor of EVS, and Kuvethilu Thuluo, Asst. Professor of History, concluded on a spiritual note with a heartfelt blessing from Kilensungla Imchen, Asst. Professor in the Political Science Department.
