Nagaland gets the best seat as Drum Tao, a world renowned Japanese drumming troupe showcased their grand performance in India for the first time. A non verbal performance, only using Japanese traditional instruments, Drum Tao have captured the hearts of Nagas and tourists from around the globe at the 25th edition of Hornbill Festival.
Drum Tao, first performed at the 25th Edition of Hornbill Festival’s opening ceremony enthralling the crowd with their energetic performance. On Day 3 of the Hornbill Festival, the Japanese team headed on to perform at Kohima Science College Jotsoma on December 4.
Dr Temjen Wabang, Principal expressed his pleasure in hosting the Drum Tao group from Japan at Kohima Science College. Dr Temjen added that through the Collaboration of Government of Nagaland and TAFMA, KSC has hosted the Drum Tao group, and thanked TAFMA, Toyota Motors and GoN for bringing Drum Tao to Nagaland.
“Kohima Science College being fortunate to have Tafma within the campus this collaborative effort of presenting Drum Tao to the students have been a fortunate experience. This collaboration was to promote our Naga culture and also to exchange traditions with other countries,” said Dr Temjen who expressed positive collaboration to promote cultural exchange with institutions in Japan in the future and for which they have also sent the proposal.
KSC Students Union also enthralled the audience with their captivating performance through traditional dances and narrations.
