MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero flagged off a one-day open road bicycle rally in commemoration with 50 years of Phek district on 4th November 2023 at Glory peak under the theme ‘Rally of Phek’, DIPR informed.

Dr Mero in his speech informed that the cyclist will be travelling 50 km between Pfutsero and Phek which is coinciding with 50 years of Phek district celebration and believed that it will be good for the people of the district. He also said it thrilled to see many young peoples from our state and other parts of India taking part in the rally with some national medalist which will be a boost and a challenge for all the participants.

He said cycling should be included in any sports event in Phek area as well as in Nagaland. Cycling is 100% eco-friendly with free pollution and called upon the participants to encourage and promote such sports in our state where CM Neiphiu Rio is taking a very keen interest in the field of sports. Dr Neisatuo also said that Pfutsero is one of the best spots to promote tourism industry and called upon the department of tourism to take up more projects in the area.
