On the second day of the 69th AKM General Conference in Akhoya village, Agriculture and Cooperation Minister G Kaito Aye called upon the student communities gathered to create impact among the communities.

The AKM, along with the elders, communities and leaders can make a significant impact in society as today’s students are the leaders of the future, Aye stated while addressing the crowd in the first session on Thursday morning.

Remarking that Naga society today is fragmented, the minister asked the Naga students’ community to join together in unison.

He emphasised that the Ao community has been in the forefront of several sectors like religion, education and so on, and further urged the Ao Community in general to stand firm, strive forward and find their way by embracing the Christian way of life.

Minister Aye released the 69th AKM General Conference Souvenir on 19 January.

The minister encouraged the Aos to protect oneself, the community and the Nagas in general. He advised the gathering to not be a liability to one’s community and further urged them to protect their academic career.

Lamenting that Nagas do not have a common language of their own, Aye called upon the gathering to create an atmosphere to show to the world the strong identity of the Nagas.

“Explore the knowledge where it should be used,” he advised the students.

At the function, the minister also released the 69th AKM General Conference Souvenir.

NSF president Kegwayhun Tep, in his speech, said the students present are the eyes and the face of the Ao people and the entire Nagas. He called upon the students to have vision and prepare themselves with multiple vested interests. He further urged the AKM and the Ao community to forge a united Naga community and to lead as an exemplary leader.
