Day 3 of Tokhu Emong celebration features rich Lotha cultural displays

Senior Advocate Orenvungo Humtsoe, legal advisor to Lotha Hoho and the convener Tokhu Emong 2023 graced the third day of Tokhu Emong celebrations at Public Ground, Wokha which features varied display of the rich local culture.

The activities on Saturday included Lotha folk song, warrior dance, display of Lotha cultivation practices by Lotha Students’ Union and solo singing competitions.

Speaking at the event, Humtsoe remarked that the Lotha  community is among the advanced tribes of Nagaland and is  blessed with rich culture. He expressed joy in celebrating Tokhu Emong with various traditional music, art and indigenous games which shows vision to revive the Lotha Naga culture and  inculcate the ancestral practices to the younger generation.

Humtsoe further emphasised on communication while prioritising the mother tongue as he felt that the present generation are losing track of their traditions.

“Language, traditional attire and cultural practices signifies and represents our tribe” Humtsoe stated.

Later the senior advocate pronounced the Lotha cultural competitions open during the event.

The program was chaired by Thungbeni Ngullie, President Lotha Eloe Hoho while Loponi Ezung, women leader Longsa Baptist Church said the benediction.
