Day after BJP announces names of 195 candidates for Lok Sabha, Modi donates Rs 2000 to Party

New Delhi: Modi to contest from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for third time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi contributed Rs 2000 to the BJP Fund on Sunday and urged supporters to be part of the donation campaign to “strengthen our efforts to build a Viksit Bharat.”

This comes a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party announced its candidates for 195 Lok Sabha seats for the upcoming General Elections. The Party announced that it will be fielding Modi from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh for the third time.

Amit Shah will be contesting from Gandhinagar in Gujarat while Rajnath Singh from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.

There are a total of 545 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Of the 195 seats, 51 seats are from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal, 24 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 each from Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, 9 seats from Telangana, 11 from Assam, 11 each from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, 5 from Delhi, 2 from J&K, 3 from Uttarakhand, 2 from Arunachal Pradesh and 1 each from Goa, Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar and Daman & Diu.

The names of the candidates for the rest of the seats will be declared soon, PM Modi had said on X.
