The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has expressed deep concern over the growing influence of armed and anti-social elements that have increasingly threatened public safety and disrupted peaceful coexistence in recent years. The organisation stated that such unlawful activities undermine the rule of law, create fear among citizens, and pose a serious challenge to the stability and harmony of society.
In a press statement, DAYO urged all communities to remain united and resolute against criminality, intimidation, and lawless behaviour in any form. It asserted that no individual or group has the right to operate outside the framework of the law, adding that violence, extortion, and intimidations have no place in a civilized society.
The Organization called upon responsible citizens, civil society organizations, and community leaders to remain vigilant and actively support lawful efforts to curb the activities of anti-social elements, warning that silence and inaction only embolden those who seek to destabilize peace.
DAYO also placed on record its appreciation for the Dimapur Police Commissionerate, led by Commissioner of Police, Aotula T Imchen, IPS, for its firm and timely actions in maintaining law and order, including operations that led to the arrest of alleged culprits linked to the Aoyimkum village incident.
The Organization further commended Nagaland Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, IPS, for his continued commitment and proactive initiatives against criminal elements, stating that such decisive enforcement sends a strong message that crime will be met with accountability.

Reiterating its stand, DAYO emphasized that justice must be delivered strictly in accordance with the law, while cautioning that no section of society should take the law into its own hands under any circumstances. It maintained that true and lasting peace can only be achieved through unity, discipline, mutual respect, and unwavering faith in the rule of law.
DAYO reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public interest and pledged continued support for all lawful measures aimed at ensuring peace, security, and justice in the region.
