DC Kiphire convenes meeting ahead of Union Finance Minister’s visit

Kiphire: Finance Minister’s visit to focus on credit outreach programmes including SHG entrepreneurs in skilled works

In connection with the proposed visit of the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, a meeting was held at DC’s conference hall Kiphire on 3rd December 2024, comprising Heads of Offices and NGO leaders.

During the meeting, DC informed that the Finance Minister’s visit would focus on credit outreach programmes that include SHG entrepreneurs in skilled works. Therefore, he informed all the Agriculture and allied departments to prepare PowerPoint presentations regarding their departmental activities. The departments under which various International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) projects were implemented have also been directed to be ready to present their reports to the Finance Minister. The rest of the departments were directed to carry out necessary preparations in their respective tasks and projects carried out under CSR will also be visited.

Deliberating on the security arrangement for the visit, the DC asserted that it is a joint responsibility and urged the local authorities to assist the security force and the Police to provide security. The NGOs under Kiphire have also been informed to stay prepared for discussion and interactions. Pungro based HODs were also directed to be present in the station, as Finance Minister would be visiting Pungro area.
