DC Kohima issues notification on outbreak of African Swine Fever

The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Kumar Ramnikant, IAS has issued a notification stating that in response to the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) at one location under Kohima district, the under mentioned areas have been notified as infected Zones and Surveillance Zones for control and containment of the ASF.

Infected Zone: R&K Piggery Farm Nyiepfü below IG Stadium extending to a 1 km radius of Infected Premises and Surveillance Zone covers an additional 9 Km outside the Infected Zone making a total of 10 Km radius from the source of infection.

In this regard, the following restrictions are to be strictly adhered in the aforementioned locations until further orders:

  1. Ban on slaughter of Pigs
  2. Ban on import and export of Pigs and Piglets
  3. Ban on transportation of Pigs and Pork.
