The “chakka bandh” called by the All Commercial Vehicle Owners Association (ACVOA) has disrupted the fuel supply in Mokokchung prompting the Deputy Commissioner to ration sale of fuel to ensure that the district does not run short of fuel.

The DC, on 6 November 2023, directed all the dealers of fuel outlets operating within Mokokchung Town not to sell more than twenty litres of fuel per light vehicles and thirty litres per heavy vehicles. It was also informed that no fuel can be issued in jerry cans, container or in any other forms other than in the fuel tank of vehicles.

This order will be effective until further notice, notified DC Thsuvisie Phoji, NCS.

ACVOA is demanding that the state government immediately release payments for the usage of their vehicles during the General Election in February 2023.
