While stating that his office has noticed some organisations and individuals are in the habit of selling badges, coupons, calendars and conduct of lotteries in violation of the government ban order which is causing inconvenience to the general public within the district, Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak has warned that stern action would be initiated against any person indulging in such illegal activities.

He mentioned that the State government had imposed a ban on such activities Vide Home Department (General Administration Branch-II) Order No. GAB/GEN/7/26/97 dated Kohima the 25th September 2000.
