The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Phek has issued a prohibition order against venturing out to the river banks for picnic, fishing etc. in view of the onset of monsoon season and occurrence of occasional heavy rainfall in the district.
The Order stated that there is possibility of water logging, flash floods, landslides and rising water levels in rivers and streams due to heavy participation in the catchment areas.

Further, the DC has informed all concerned Area Administrative Officers/Head of the Departments/Village Disaster Management Authority/Village Council Authorities and Ward Authorities in the district are directed to be on standby to attend any emergencies resulting from natural calamities during the current year.
