DC Tuensang informs arm license holders in view of upcoming general elections

Tuensang: The DC has directed all the arms license holders under Tuensang district to report to the concerned Police Station latest by 20 January 2023 with the arms/ammunition and license booklet for physical verification

In view of the upcoming general elections to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Election Officer (DEO) Tuensang, Nokchasashi has informed all concerned to conduct physical verification of all arms and ammunition being held by the licensees in Tuensang district per the rules 30 and 112 of the arms rules, 2016.

According to a DIPR report, the DC has directed all the arms license holders under Tuensang district to report to the concerned Police Station between 9am to 3pm latest by 20 January 2023 with the arms/ammunition and license booklet for physical verification.

Failure to comply will lead to the cancellation of the arms license and invite other penal actions as per the relevant section of the law, the report stated.

The officer-in-charge of the concerned police station has been directed to furnish a daily report in excel format with the following details – Name of License Holder, License Number, UIN Number, type of arms & No, license last renewed date, and number of ammunition available.
