The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha has on Friday made another plea to the Lotha civil society organisations to keep the indefinite bandh on National Highway 2 (previously NH 61) within Wokha district stating that the contractor, TT Infra India Pvt Ltd has agreed to resume work on the road and that the mobilization of machinery and manpower is underway following a meeting with the Chief Engineer PWD (NH).
The contractor had earlier informed its intention to terminate its contract citing its issues.
The PWD had on Friday conducted a meeting with TT Infra India Pvt Ltd “where the contractor was convinced to resume the work after much deliberation.” The department informed that the following terms and conditions has been assured to the contractor.
- a) The Works will be carried out as per the scope of the contract agreement only. No additional work should be enforced upon the contractor and the works outside of the ROW should not come under the purview of the contractor.
- b) The contractor or his machineries are not responsible to carry out any dismantling or eviction works outside the ROW as per the contract agreement (ie 8.5 m to 10 m within built up area in Wokha town) and hence should not be forced upon
- c) That if anyone has any issues and concerns regarding the quality and specifications of the work, they should approach the department ie PWD(NH) officials and should not harass the workmen at site.
- d) If any further threat is met to the workers, the contractor will be compelled to withdraw from the work.
