The Deputy Commissioner of Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS has issued an order today suspending the vehicular movement along NH-61 (old NH-2)in order to facilitate the safe removal of rock debris.
The DC informed that the suspension of vehicular movement will start from May 11 till 13 to facilitate and allow the safe removal of rock debris which is lying dangerously above at 81+200 Km on NH- 61(Old NH-2), Wokha. The order also mentioned that the rock debris poses risk to life and safety of the travellers.

Therefore, all forms of vehicular movement from APMC Wokha Town to Doyang Bridge(Mokokchung road) along NH-61(Old NH-2) Wokha/Mokokchung road shall remain suspended from 4:00PM of 11th May 2024 till 7:00AM of 13th May 2024.
During the restricted period, medium and light vehicles travelling/plying on Wokha-VK-Mokokchung route are advised to take the diversion road of ‘O’ Point-Wokha-Doyang-Sungro-Mamongtong-Alichen.
