DC Zunheboto directs Arms license holders

In order to ensure free and fair election in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, from Nagaland parliamentary constituency, the Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS has informed all the arms licence holders in Zunheboto district to submit their arms and license at the nearest police station against proper receipts for such deposit from March 7 to April 6, 2024.

All the fire arms deposited as per this order are to be kept in the safe custody in the same police station till one week after declaration of the result or till the election process is complete. Further, the Deputy Commissioner has also prohibited carrying of arms for any kind of purpose other than verification/submission of the arms. Failure to comply with the order will lead to cancellation of arms licence or any appropriate penal action as per the rules in force.
