DC Zunheboto orders restriction on Inter Polling Station movement of private vehicles during ULB polls

Zunheboto: Candidates will be entitled to use 2 vehicles only from 24th to 26th June 2024

The Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS through an Order issued on 18th June 2024 notified that, in view of the conduct of ULB election 2024, and in pursuance of State Election Commission letter No. SCE/MTC ELE-33/2024/266, Kohima dated the 15th June 2024, restricted the Inter Polling Station movement of private vehicles under Zunheboto District on the Poll day i.e. 26th June 2024 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Further, the candidates will be entitled to use 2 (two) vehicles only w.e.f 24th June 2024 to 26th June 2024. In this regard, candidates are directed to get a written permission Order from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Zunheboto and through the respective Returning Officer.

The aforementioned restriction will apply to all vehicles except those vehicles requisitioned for election duty viz District Administration, Police, Polling Personnel on Election Duty, Medical Department & Departments exempted by State Election Commission and vehicles for medical exigencies and other emergencies.

Failing to comply with this order, strict action shall be initiated against the defaulters and shall be booked under relevant Sections of the Representation of Peoples’ Act, 1951 and Nagaland Municipal Act 2023.
